Open letter to flist,

Seesh people, I have not had the chance to write anything (or in some cases the inclination) and my modem has not been working. I have been able to upload things, since it only takes a moment, but then it cuts out.

I feel like I am abandoning my friends this is not the case. Sighs, the modem is fixed now... I think. I might be online tonight but no promises.

I just completed IRB training, and am looking at what I still have to do this weekend, so my brain is fried, and then there is always the fact that my modem may decide not to work.

I am alive though and love you all.

Internal Review Board. They are the board that decided whither or not you can do resarch projects, especially if it involves humans or non-human living creatures. You have to be certified by them to do the research before you can even think of submitting a project.

I had to be certified for non bio medical research with human subjects. For the social sciences. It is unlikely that the project I am attempting with my/for my community research project will have to actually be reviewed by them, since it will mostly consist of surveys, but I still had to have the certificiation for the resarch to be valid.
