BA English 8 yrs and counting+ Movies
Yes, you have read that right, I have been working on my BA in English for going on 8 yrs. Part of that is transferring schools, part is injuries, part is switching majors back and forth. The largest contributing factor since I joined this Uni, however would be the difficultly I am having in obtaining those last 4 discipline specific classes I need to gain my degree. I thought I was going to whip one of them out this summer. I got news today, one week before the class started that it had been canceled. No reason why. Its annoying, however I am glad I got the advanced warning-short as it is- and didn't show up to class to find it written on the blackboard.
Now I have to figure out, if I am going to take a class I don't need, and risk not being able to attend the classes, because of the NC doctor's appointments, and messing up my GPA, or if I just want to start paying back on all four of my student loans come august.
I realize things come up in Prof. lives, but its annoying when it messes up my perfectly planned finical aid. Yes, that sounded self-centered I know.
On a lighter note, I watched Over My Dead Body last night. It was an okay movie. After the way my Uncle's bragged about it I expected it to be better. Upon watching it, I think the appeal of the movie to them had more to do with two things. Uncle one 1) Eva Longora in a wedding dress
Uncle Two: Skinny Red headed, green eyed girl, yes he definitely has a type. The movie does a few funny moments. But I am glad I didn't pay to go see it, or rent it. I give it about a C.
On a side note. I know I am a virgin, at 25, say it loud say it proud, if a bit frustrated! So I might be a bit sheltered by today's standards but am I the only one that found the idea that the girl labeled her friend gay because he hadn't tried to kiss her after one week a little two WTF??? worthy to even be funny? I know the point was to generate laughs with that situation, but I found the absurdity of it left me going WTF??? at the TV and thinking "SKANK" more then it made me want to laugh. Am I to sheltered, or frigid?
